Material Parameter Acquisition

Alloy testing laboratory at advanced specifications (ATLAS)

Our competence cluster ATLAS – together with Delta Sigma Analytics GmbH and Nordmetall GmbH – enables for the fast and cost-effective material development and characterization:

  • wide temperature range depending on the alloy (validated from 20 to 1200°C)

  • at low and high strain rates (validated from 0.0001 bis 1000 1/s)

To gather the maximum amount of information from few tests, every single test is simulated and optimization algorithms are used to identify the best fitting model. Currently, tensile, compression and torsion tests are offered and modelled with one consistent model. The simulation-supported material characterization also allows to include adiabatic heating and transient effects in the evaluation, which are typically neglected in analytical approaches.
